He ain't heavy.... The Brownlee brothers
Have a look at the video in this link.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/triathlon/37402716

Exhausted Briton Jonny Brownlee needed to be helped over the finish line by brother Alistair in a dramatic end to the Triathlon World Series in Mexico.

Leading with 700m left, Jonny, 26, began to weave over the road in hot and humid conditions in Cozumel.

Third-placed Alistair, 28, caught his brother, propping him up for the final couple of hundred metres before pushing him over the line in second place.

They were overtaken by South African Henri Schoeman, the eventual winner.

Victory in Mexico would have given Jonny the world title, but second place left him just four points behind Mario Mola.

I thought that was quality. Ali is a fucking legend.

Real shame the Saffer ran past Johnny at the end so he didn't take the title.

Not only that, but the Saffer celebrated like he'd won the race by a fucking mile.

Both Legends of their very difficult sport, and I love the fact that they are solid brothers too .

That was a heart warming thing to see, that is the way we should all try to be.

I have to admit though it is funny to watch one of the greatest athletes in the world running as I would have done in my prime, like an obese man running on jelly, HA,

What a cunt that South African is, celebrating like he wiped the floor with them, he only won by because the silly sod didn't take a drink

What is this ...... TAG TEAM triathlon?
Blatant cheating & both should be disqualified.

More humiliation for B2. Can never beat B1 in an Olympic race and then when he is ahead he has to be lumped over the line by his older brother. An embarrassment to younger brothers everywhere.

Helping up a fellow competitor who has fallen or sharing drinks is one thing but carrying someone over the line is 'outside assistance' OBVIOUSLY
If Brownlee Junior had finished under his own steam to win this race he would have won the Triathlon World Series. As it is he finishes 2nd. Would have been a travesty if he'd been chucked over the line first.

Re: He ain't heavy.... The Brownlee brothers
I half agree with Sven here, but apparently the Spanish athletics committee made a similar, official complaint and were told to 'do one'*

*not an exact quote.

Re: He ain't heavy.... The Brownlee brothers
Spaniards finished first and third overall so obviously wanted to get their third placed guy into second.
Seems it's all about not allowing 'outside assistance' so you can't have someone run on and help.
The reason it's 'outside' is because competitors often help each other by zipping up wetsuits for each other or sharing drinks and they didn't think that should be outlawed.
That's fine but that's different to carrying someone down the track.

So what happened was 100% within the rules then? I mean you can argue it shouldn't be, but surely not for a retrospective change?

Another irrelevant thread. Yes, they shouldn't have cheated but they're not West Ham so take it elsewhere.

Brilliant thing to see in sport. I have to say, I make the Saffa right. His killer instinct lead him to win the race and the face is, he was going to overtake him anyway.
